The Tasmanian Community Fund's 2021 Improved Wellbeing and Increasing Workforce Engagement Strategic Initiative Rounds are now open.  

The TCF is calling for expressions of interest ($100 000 to $500 000 over the life of the project) for a range of collaborative and sustainable projects that improve the wellbeing of Tasmanians or increase workforce engagement for Tasmanias.

Expressions of interest close at 5pm on Wednesday, 10 March 2021.

The Improved Wellbeing and Increasing Workforce Engagement expression of interest form and guidelines can be found on the TCF website.

Applicants are encouraged to contact to the TCF Office on 6165 8333 to discuss their project idea.

The Sisters Beach Recreation Park was officially opened on Saturday 20 February, with the skate park facility getting a workout from locals and visitors, excited to try out the new facility.

Along with the official opening formalities, the Know Your Odds Scoot, Skate and BMX Competition Series took place on the day, with riders vying for top prizes.

A community driven project has led to a major kitchen upgrade for a popular north east coast community, with major funding from the TCF.

The Weymouth Progress Association together with the George Town Council has undertaken a major upgrade of catering facilities in the Weymouth Hall, providing an updated catering facility for members of the Weymouth and neighbouring communities.

The original kitchen was out-dated and didn’t comply with current Food Handling Standards and the Weymouth Progress Association worked hard to secure funding to enable it to bring the kitchen facility up to standard.

The President of the Weymouth Progress Association, Dr Mark Symes, said that the grants will not only contribute to an improvement in catering facilities but will also significantly enhance opportunities for community and social engagement and conducting community events.  More ...

Tasmanian Community Fund Board members and the SEO visited Nubeena to discuss the needs and priorities of the Tasman with community members and to provide information on how community groups can access funds from the TCF.

Our thanks to everyone who attended the Community Forum for their willingness to share their stories and ideas. We hope that the discussions started at the session can continue and we look forward to talking further when the ideas have solidified.

The 2021 Emerging Community Leaders program is underway.

The participants from around Tasmania took part in residential one in February 2020 but, due to Covid, the 2020 program was put on hold.  2020 cohort have reconvened for the 2021 program and the growth of each individual in that twelve month period and the level of connection across the group was very evident when they gathered for the first 2021 residential at Grindelwald.

This years program is being delivered by the Tasmanian Community Fund in partnership with Tony Chapman and Rikki Mawad.
