John Marsden's manifesto on teaching and raising children(ABC Conversations - Michelle Ransom-Hughes)

John is the author of many bestselling books, mostly written for young people, including the Tomorrow series.

Before he became an author he was a high school teacher.

In recent years John's founded two schools: Candlebark, in a forest outside Melbourne; and Alice Miller High School in Macedon. These schools are largely based on John's philosophies on how to raise children.

Now John's written a parenting manifesto, drawing on his decades as an educator, step-parent and author.
