Capability and Culture of the NDIA

About this inquiry

As part of the committee’s role to inquire into and report on the implementation, performance, governance, administration and expenditure of the NDIS, the committee has decided to conduct an inquiry into the Capability and Culture of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

Further detail about the scope of the inquiry is provided in the Terms of Reference.

Making a submission

The committee invites submissions and has agreed to set two submission closing dates – 12 October 2022 and 16 December 2022.

The committee particularly welcomes submissions from people with disability, families and carers; allied health professionals; and representative organisations. More information about making submissions can be found online.

Submissions from organisations and individuals received on or before 12 October 2022 will be considered for public hearings to be held later in 2022.

Any submissions received after the 12 October 2022 submission closing date will not be considered for hearings in 2022, but will be considered for hearings in 2023.

Confidentiality of personal accounts

Please note that all personal accounts will be considered confidential in the first instance. The committee will then consider whether it is appropriate to make all, or some, of the submission public. If you wish for your submission to remain confidential, please bring this to the attention of the committee when submitting.

Individual cases

Submissions outlining details of individual cases or complaints may assist the committee in identifying broader systemic issues for investigation. However, the committee is not in a position to provide advice on individual circumstances, nor is it able to overturn or remake decisions made by the National Disability Insurance Agency. People with concerns about these matters should contact the National Disability Insurance Agency directly.
