IGNITE Productions (FReeZA)

Events for young people by young people. 

Join our FReeZA Committee to be involved in organising and running youth-based events.  Learn the basics of event management.

iPlay

iPLAY is a fun program for young people to get active in a range of free play sports, games and activities, designed to cater to the interests of young people.

Youth in Partnership is a program designed to support our first nations young people. Provide leadership opportunities while also offering a space to connect with others

Street Soccer

Melton Young Communities in Collaboration with The Big Issue provide a fun and exciting initiative that uses the power of sport to change lives.  With provided equipment & supportive staff, during the two-hour sessions, players take part in training and a friendly match.  There is no need to have any experience playing soccer, this program caters to all fitness levels and abilities.

Other programs and events

Young Women's Leadership Program

The Young Women’s 7 week Leadership Program aims to provide female identifying individuals with a safe space to learn about leadership and network with like minded individuals.  The program will provide participants with the opportunity to feel empowered, confident, and comfortable in their school life, professional life, and day to day life. 

Date:  Every Wednesday from 14 February to 27 March 2024
Time:  4.30pm – 6pm
Age group:   Female identifying young people between the ages of 15-25
Graduation:  17 April 2024
Location:   Alternating weekly between:
Melton Youth Centre, 193 Barries Road, Melton, and
Taylors Hill Youth & Community Centre, 121 Calder Park Drive, Taylors Hill.

Participants must attend a minimum of 5 sessions in order to receive a certificate of completion at the graduation ceremony on 17 April 2024.

Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)

Melton YAC brings together young people aged 15-25, community representatives and Councillors to discuss local issues.

Youth Holiday Activities: runs during school holidays

A mix of excursions and local based activities for young people age 12 to 25 years.

Activity information will be available in the lead up to the school holidays of each term, with all bookings to be made online at time specified.
