Our Vision for Queensland

QAMH’s vision is laid out in Wellbeing First. It paints a future where the mental health system moves from managing illness to actively supporting mental wellbeing. It argues the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector is best placed to support population-wide wellbeing, through programs that provide practical support early in a person’s mental distress.

Our Advocacy Leads a United Voice

With our members, QAMH leads a united contemporary voice, promoting a strong role for the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector in Queensland.

Leads a United Voice

Our Network

We work closely with our members and stakeholders to build networks with funders, other elements of the mental health system and other related sectors to drive reform and improve access to quality mental health and wellbeing services for all Queenslanders.

Have you read the draft Workforce Strategy?

The draft Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Workforce Strategy 2024 – 2029 is a culmination of over 12 months work with the sector. Extensive state-wide public consultation with the expertise of Lived Experience of both consumers and carers, academia and key stakeholders occurred between March and June 2023. We’ve used all this knowledge to structure this strategy into 19 key priorities.
