Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia are pleased to offer MyGolf through Sporting Schools, Australia’s national introductory program to develop and promote junior participation in golf.

In addition, secondary schools can access Golf Australia’s secondary schools program designed to engage students through fun, challenging student-led activities.

All programs can be delivered by external coaches (with accredited PGA Professionals or Community Instructors available in a wide range of areas) or by teachers, with interactive online teacher training accessible to support the delivery of the program. School Equipment kits suitable for Lower Primary through to Secondary can also be accessed to ensure your school has all it needs to run a fun and engaging golf program.

Primary School Programs

The MyGolf primary schools program introduces golf to children through a simple yet engaging program that teachers or external coaches can deliver as part of their core curriculum requirements. Recommended to be delivered across 5 sessions, the lessons will cover the main skills in golf: putting, chipping and full swing, with the final session giving children the chance to partake in a modified ‘on course’ game at school or a visit to the local golf course/facility.

Secondary School Programs

Golf Australia’s secondary school’s program also offers a suggested five session outline that offers flexibility and a range of delivery methods. Students will be exposed to the three main skills in golf, along with strategy and decision-making skills, peer to peer learning with a fitness component embedded in the program to increase physical activity.

MyGolf for All Programs

MyGolf for All is an adapted program designed by Golf Australia in partnership with Special Olympics Australia, catering for students with intellectual disabilities and autism. Coaches are purposefully trained to deliver in special education environments and to adapt activities to suit the needs of participating students.

With the support of Deaf Sports Australia, we can also facilitate an Active Deaf Kids program through Sporting Schools. To book, simply outline in the comments that you would like an Active Deaf Kids program.

The virtual program consists of 8 videos that combine wellbeing principles (thanks to The Resilience Project) and golf skills, followed by practical activities and a Quiz after each session.

Your teacher will share with you the code required to access this program free of charge. Parents will then need to register their child into the program and create a login to gain access.

For more information, check out the MyGolf Schools Guide and the Golf Australia Sporting Schools FAQs.

MyGolf Schools can be accessed in all Australian states and territories. There may be some more remote regions in each state/territory that do not have as many of our external coaching workforce available and we recommend teachers deliver the program after completing the online training.

Please first contact your state/territory booking coordinator if you are interested in a coach delivered program to see if they can assist in connecting you with a PGA Professional or Community Instructor.

Local club and facility visits are also available in most regions with golf clubs & facilities, driving ranges, Mini Golf facilities, simulators etc spread far and wide across the country.
