LIT header 2024

The third annual LIT event was held in March 2024, lighting up Wyndham Park over 14 glowing evenings. Over 75,000 people turn out to explore the park, completely transformed by a series of sensational lighting installations.

On the main lawn Amigo & Amigo’s ChronoHarp was a huge drawcard, with people able to create gentle harp melodies as the illuminated, giant, instrument glowed above.

A big favourite with the children was Trumpet Flowers, with buttons pushed to light up giant flowers and play trumpet tunes.

Two nature trails running alongside the river offered two completely different experiences; Bird Song by Skunk Control was a delightful display of glowing birdhouses and proud, colourful peacocks. This trail led into the Laser walk by Resolution X, a magic intersection of haze, lasers and lighting technology.

All the way from the UK, was Ursula Lassos the Moon, an ethereal rotating moon, seemingly plucked from the sky and spinning in a rope lasso tethered to the earth. Closer to home, Werribee artist Teeny Fletcher, produced a dreamy light filled walk called Cosmic Reverie.  Chalk River Labs contributed to the glowing wonderland, with hypnotic kaleidoscopic light washing over two glorious Night Parrots and the Rocket Ship Slide tower.

Nocturnal Neighbourhood by artist Christie Widarto, showcased playful nighttime animals across a series of LED screens and Tobie Petrie projected fabulous animations across the Nature Playground with Faces in the Playground.

The LIT series also hosted a Sensory Friendly evening with alterations made to ensure better accessibility of the event.

LIT continues to offer a broad range of stunning lighting installations, carefully curated for enjoyment, spectacle and interaction for the community to explore.
