Sydney West Cross Country Carnival
Congratulations to Kirra Howell who competed at the Sydney West Cross Country championships on Wednesday, 15th June. She ran a great race on a very tough and hilly course. We're so proud of her - well done, Kirra!

End of Term
As we reach the end of Term 2, I would like to thank the community for their ongoing support of the school: in the uniform shop, at P and C meetings, with lunch specials and during whole-school events such as the athletics carnival. We are hoping to have more parent involvement next term with fundraising and support for our families.
Start of Term 3
There will be a school development day on Monday, 18th July for teachers only.
All students will return on Tuesday, 19th July
Have a great few weeks :)

K - 6Y and K - 6S go to the farm!
On Friday the 17th June, K - 6Y and K - 6S enjoyed a lovely sunny day at Calmsley Hill City Farm. We travelled there on a bus and remembered to wear our seatbelts to be safe. We put our bags in the lunchroom and then we went with our guide Denessa to meet our first animal, a tiny baby chick which we pat lightly with only two fingers.
We then met Coco the camel and her donkey friends. After that we went into the animal nursery where we fed the baby goats and lambs and give them gentle pats. Next we walked to see the cows, including two baby calves and a Scottish Highland cow. We then had a turn milking a jersey cow!
When we had finished milking the cow, we saw some pigs and foxes and then got ready to ride the tractor! The tractor ride was very loud, very dusty and very bumpy! It was a lot of fun. We even got to see some sheep and some geese as we went around the big paddock.
After lunch we sat in a big circle with some other schools and watched the whip cracking show. It was very loud! Some of us even go to have a turn at cracking the whip. When that show was over, we watched the kelpie dogs round up the sheep and last we got to watch a farmer shear a sheep! The farmer wore a special harness around his body to help hold him as he cut off all the sheeps wool.
We caught the bus back to school and some of us even fell asleep on the drive back to school as it was such a busy day!
We can't wait to go again one day.

What a great term we have had! The preschoolers have explored ANZAC day, dental hygiene, people with varying abilities, Mother's Day, spiders, snakes, winter, gardening and Munch and Move skills, like running, games and dance. We are currently conducting parent, child and teacher meetings. This has been an opportunity for us to reflect on our progress, what we have been learning this semester and set personal goals for Semester 2. Please see Mrs Condello if you would like to make a time to meet.
