Circular 15/23 Launch of Conflict of Interests Course

Further to Circular 41/22 sent on 23 September 2022 and Circular 10/23 sent on 9 February 2023, the Conflicts of Interest course for sub-Branch Office Bearers and Trustees (new and continuing) is now available.

The online training program will support all sub-Branch Office Bearers and Trustees in identifying and managing conflicts of interest for themselves and other sub-Branch members. This will further enable the protection of the reputation of RSL NSW and its sub-Branches and reduce the likelihood of breaches of compliance and regulatory obligations.

The course covers a range of topics, including:

  • Identifying and declaring conflicts of interest
  • The difference between actual, perceived, and potential conflicts of interest
  • Financial and non-financial conflicts of interest
  • Managing conflicts of interest and minimising their impact
  • Accountability and reporting
  • Conflicts of interest registers

The interactive training includes audio and visual content, along with relevant case studies to assist in the practical application of the training content within sub-Branches. The course concludes with a quiz and participants will receive a certificate of completion.

The course is hosted on an online training platform, managed, and custom-built exclusively for RSL NSW by Major Training Services (MTS). A separate email with login details will be sent directly to sub-Branch Office Bearers and Trustees’ personal email addresses. It is important that following the sub-Branch Annual General Meeting (AGM) elections, newly elected and continuing Office Bearers’ individual personal email addresses are up-to-date and/or added to the sub-Branch Portal. Course login details will be emailed to each Office Bearer, upon receipt of the AGM minutes by ANZAC House to support@rslnsw.org.au.

Please note that each sub-Branch Office Bearer is required to complete the training individually, therefore, the sub-Branch email address, or shared personal email addresses, cannot be used for training logins.

If your sub-Branch requires financial support to fund the IT equipment necessary to complete this training, please submit a request for financial support by completing the Support & Assistance Fund Application Form. If you require assistance to access the training platform, please contact the Member Support Team on 1300 679 775 or support@rslnsw.org.au.

For further information, please refer to Circular 41/22 and Circular 10/23 or contact the Member Support Team.
