GOVT UPDATE: From Midnight Friday 25 March

Although still under the RED Traffic Light setting…

From Midnight Friday 25 March

  • There will be no limits on outdoor gatherings.
  • The number of people allowed to gather inside will increase from 100 to 200.
  • No QR codes needed. (However you may wish to leave one poster displayed for those who still want to keep a record of their movements for their own sake.)
  • Physical distancing no longer required but still encouraged.
  • The Bishop expects us to continue to use face masks in all church services and gatherings.
  • We will continue to offer only non-physical signs of Peace and to have Communion in one kind only.

From Monday 4 April

  • There is no requirement to use Vaccine passes, however, vaccine pass services can still be held.
  • Vaccine mandates for workplaces are also no longer required (except for health and disability, aged care, corrections and border workforces). BUT this doesn’t necessarily mean we can’t require them for our workers. More on this to come.
  • The Bishop expects us to continue to use face masks in all church services and gatherings.
  • We will continue to offer only non-physical signs of Peace and to have Communion in one kind only.

Old Information:

New Zealand moved to a “Red Light” Pandemic Traffic Light alert on Sunday 23 January 2022 (at 11:59pm).

This means updated rules about where we can visit and what we can do.

Bishop Peter has sent out our Diocesan response to the Traffic Light Framework, and  most recently, to the Red Light alert, that can be downloaded below:

  • Jan ’22: “Red Light” Memo Red Light Memo
