Qtopia opens
In an historic milestone ahead of the 2024 Sydney Mardi Gras, Qtopia Sydney officially opened its doors to the public last Friday 23 February, creating a new heart for LGBTQIA+ history, art and culture in the Oxford Street Precinct.

Under the stewardship of Create NSW, the heritage site, which was once the old Darlinghurst Police Station and also served as an administrative office for NSW Health, has been transformed to become Qtopia Sydney. As the new centre for queer history and culture, Qtopia Sydney aims to be a beacon of understanding, acceptance, and pride, honouring the legacy of those who marched in the first Mardi Gras in 1978.

Qtopia Sydney opening hours: Wednesday to Sunday, 10:30am to 4:30pm.
