Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore-incorporated Licensed Fund Management Company.

About Us

Established in 2012, we are currently advising three private equity funds, Mizuho ASEAN Investment LP, Exacta Asia Investment II LP and Exacta Asia Investment III LP.

Our private equity funds seek to invest in and nurture promising mid-cap companies in Southeast Asia in part by leveraging our Japanese connections. We aim to establish partnerships with seasoned entrepreneurs and maximize their companies’ potential by unlocking synergies with corporate Japan.

Our Network

Through the networks of our diverse team, we also strive to create additional value-add to our investees by supporting growth beyond their home markets into other parts of ASEAN.

ESG

Exacta Capital Partners and Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd. are signatories to the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).

The PRI, voluntary and aspirational, aim to further understanding of the implications of sustainable investing and support signatories to incorporate environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) issues into their decision making and ownership practices.

As a signatory, we are committed to:

We have a grievance mechanism implemented for external stakeholders. Kota IGARASHI

Chief Executive Officer

Kota Igarashi is the Chief Executive Officer of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd. Kota is a Japanese national whose responsibility is to oversee the overall activities of the Fund.

Prior to the launch of Mizuho ASEAN PE Fund, Kota was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs serving the firm for 14 years, most recently at the Merchant Banking Division heading the private equity investment in Japan for a USD 20 billion global fund. While at Goldman Sachs, Kota also worked at the Investment Banking Division advising M&A and Corporate Finance to various Japanese corporates.

Before joining Goldman Sachs, Kota worked for Industrial Bank of Japan (Current Mizuho Bank) as a corporate lending officer and also was seconded to IBJ Securities (Current Mizuho Securities) at the Fixed Income Securities Division.

Kota holds an MBA from University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School and a BA from Keio University.

Sng Yeow Hua

Managing Director

Sng Yeow Hua is a Managing Director of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd. Yeow Hua is a Singaporean national whose responsibility is coverage of Singapore and execution of the Fund’s investments in Southeast Asia.

Prior to his current appointment, Yeow Hua was a Vice President at UOB Venture Management – a bank backed private equity fund manager with some USD 500 million under management. At UOB Venture Management, he was responsible for the execution of private equity investments in Southeast Asia and China, across sectors such as manufacturing, F&B and O&G. Yeow Hua started his career at Goldman Sachs in private wealth management and has also spent time in M&A advisory at a boutique investment bank in Singapore.

Yeow Hua graduated from the National University of Singapore with 1st class Honours in Economics. He is a CFA charterholder.

Winston BATANGHARI

Managing Director

Winston Batanghari is a Managing Director of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd. Winston is an Indonesian national whose responsibility is to provide Indonesian coverage for the Fund.

Prior to the launch of Mizuho ASEAN PE Fund, Winston was a partner at Quvat Capital, an Indonesia-focused private equity fund with USD 500 million under management, that he co-founded in 2006. While at Quvat, Winston worked extensively on its real estate and retail portfolio companies and also served on its Investment Committee and Budget Committee.

Previously, Winston worked for two years at A.T. Kearney, a global management consulting firm, where he worked on projects in industries including automotive, telecommunications and financial institutions in Indonesia, Malaysia and China.

Winston holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a BS from UCLA.

Hai T. Duong

Director

Hai T. Duong is a Director of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd. Hai is a Vietnamese whose responsibility is coverage of Vietnam and execution of the Fund’s investments in Southeast Asia.

Prior to joining Mizuho, he was an Investment Manager at VinaCapital Group, the largest investment management firm in Vietnam. While at VinaCapital, he oversaw deal sourcing, structuring, and execution of the infrastructure fund’s private equity investments.

Hai holds a BSBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler Business School. He is a CFA charterholder.

Leon Hiew

Director

Leon is a Director of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd. He is a Malaysian whose responsibilities include the coverage and execution of the Fund’s investments in Southeast Asia, with a focus on Malaysia.

Prior to joining Mizuho, Leon spent 7 years at Navis Capital Partners, one of the largest buyout funds focusing on Southeast Asia where his last position held was as an Investment Director. While at Navis, he oversaw deal sourcing, structuring, execution, portfolio monitoring and divestments of the fund’s private equity investments in Southeast Asia as well as Hong Kong/China, focusing on the manufacturing, entertainment, F&B, education, and grocery retail sectors.

Prior to Navis, Leon spent 3 years at Maybank Private Equity, focusing on growth capital and minority investments primarily in Southeast Asia. Leon started his career as a Research Analyst for Citigroup Singapore in their Economic and Market Analysis department where he covered macro and market analyses for Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

Leon holds a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Vincent Yang

Director

Vincent Yang is a Director of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd. Vince is a Filipino whose responsibility is coverage of the Philippines and execution of the Fund’s investments in Southeast Asia.

Prior to joining Mizuho, he was an Analyst at Navegar (Brummer & Partners), a Philippine-based private equity firm. While at Navegar, Vince focused on deal execution and completed investments in the healthcare and F&B sectors.

He holds both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Applied Mathematics: Major in Mathematical Finance from the Ateneo de Manila University. He has also passed all levels of the CFA exam.

Vithit Vattanamara

Director

Vithit Vattanamara is a Director to the Funds. Vithit is a Thai national whose responsibility is coverage of Thailand.

Prior to joining Mizuho, Vithit was an Investment Director at Navis Capital, a prominent Southeast Asia-focused private equity fund with USD 3.0 billion under management. Vithit served the fund for 8 years primarily based in Bangkok office leading the execution of the investments/divestments as well as monitoring the portfolio companies and serving as a board of director mainly in Thailand and Vietnam.

Before joining Navis Capital, Vithit worked for an investment banking arm of Trinity Securities, a Thai listed securities firm.

Vithit holds a MSc from University of York in UK and BBA from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.

Lim Yong Lee

Operating Partner

Lim Yong Lee is an Operating Partner of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd. Yong Lee is a Malaysian national whose responsibility is to provide expert technical support to facilitate on-the-ground value creation for portfolio companies’ operations in Malaysia and the Southeast Asia region.

Prior to his current appointment, Yong Lee was Chief Investment Officer of Malaysian Ventures Management (the Malaysian affiliate of SEAVI Advent before it was bought out by AM Investment Bank in 2005). Yong Lee’s past investment experience have been in the following sectors: industrial products, electronic contract manufacturing, environmental services, financial services and logistics services. Yong Lee worked closely with portfolio companies as board member and/or management committee member.

Before joining SEAVI Advent, Yong Lee was senior manager at 2 public listed companies in Malaysia focusing on corporate investments and regional business development.

Yong Lee holds an MBA in International Business and Finance from the University of Toledo, Ohio.

Jonathan Chua

Vice President

Jonathan Chua is a Vice President of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte Ltd. Jonathan is a Malaysian whose responsibility is execution of the Fund’s investments in Southeast Asia and coverage of Malaysia.

Prior to joining the company, Jonathan was an Analyst on the investment team at Creador, a South and Southeast Asia focused private equity firm, and an Investment Analyst at Stamford Management, focused on managing its internal long/short equity hedge fund.

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Brown University.

Tubagus Grandee (Andes)

Vice President

Tubagus Grandee (Andes) is a Vice President of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte Ltd. Andes is an Indonesian national whose responsibility is execution of the Fund’s investments in Southeast Asia and coverage of Indonesia.

Prior to joining Mizuho, Andes was an Associate General Manager (Investment Division) at Rajawali Corpora, a leading Indonesian investment company. Prior to Rajawali, Andes was an Investment Banking Analyst with J.P. Morgan, where he focused on deal execution for Indonesian and regional clients. Andes started his career as an Analyst at Quvat, an Indonesian-focused PE fund.

Andes holds BSc in Economics from University of Indonesia. He is a CFA charterholder.

Quoc Bui

Vice President

Quoc is a Vice President of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte Ltd. Quoc’s responsibility is execution of the Fund’s investments in Southeast Asia and coverage of Vietnam.

Prior to joining Mizuho, Quoc was an Associate at Mekong Capital in Vietnam. During his time at Mekong, Quoc focused on deal execution and post-investment value adding activities for portfolio companies. Quoc specialized in the consumer & industrial sectors, particularly education services, retail, FMCG & transportation services.

Quoc holds an MSc in Economics & Strategy for Business from Imperial College London and a BSc in Accounting and Finance from University of Warwick.

Jia Ying KHO

Associate

Jia Ying is an Associate of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte Ltd. She focuses on execution & coverage of the Fund’s investments in Southeast Asia.

Prior to joining Mizuho, Jia Ying was an Analyst in Dymon Asia Private Equity, a mid-market private equity firm in Southeast Asia. During her tenure, she developed expertise in analysis and execution across diverse sectors such as manufacturing, waste management, semiconductors, F&B and fintech.

Before transitioning to private equity, Jia Ying started her career at HSBC in the Mergers & Acquisitions team, executing deals in retail, oil & gas, insurance and healthcare.

Jia Ying holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and is a CFA charterholder.

Yosuke AOYAGI

Associate

Yosuke Aoyagi is an Associate of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte Ltd. Yosuke is a Japanese national whose responsibility is to promote strategic alliances with Japanese corporates and execution of the Fund’s investments in Southeast Asia.

Prior to joining Mizuho, Yosuke was a Vice President at Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd. and worked at the Investment Banking Division, where he focused on origination and execution of M&A and capital markets projects across PE funds and Japanese trading companies industries.

Yosuke holds BA from Meiji University. He is a Certiﬁed Member Analyst of SAAJ.

Hiroshi Yokomizu

Chief Operating Officer

Hiroshi Yokomizu is the Chief Operating Officer of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd. Hiro is a Japanese national whose responsibility is to oversee the overall activity of the Operations & Administration Team, which covers legal, regulatory/ ESG compliance, finance, tax and other duties necessary to run the Fund.

Prior to joining Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd., Hiro was a Vice President at Mizuho Bank, Ltd., primarily engaged in cross-border M&A deals. Whilst at Mizuho Bank, Hiro also worked at Corporate Banking Division as a relationship manager, dealing with large corporates in heavy electric, semi-conductor, and IT industry.

Hiro holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Doshisha University.

Joyce TAN

Finance Manager

Joyce Tan is a Finance Manager in the Operations & Administration Team of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd. She is primarily responsible for the accounting, audit and taxation aspects of the company as well as other operational and administrative matters.

Prior to joining Mizuho, Joyce Tan worked in the finance function of various financial institutions. Notably, Joyce Tan served as Assistant Controller with Avenue Asia Singapore, the Asia presence of a global fund management firm, where she was responsible for accounting and operational functions.

Joyce Tan holds a Master of Science in Accounting (Data & Analytics) from Singapore Management University and a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University. She is a Chartered Accountant.

Yvonne CHUNG

Compliance Officer

As the Compliance Officer, Yvonne is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the regulatory and compliance framework of the business. She also oversees ESG compliance in her role as the ESG Officer.

Prior to joining Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd., Yvonne was Deputy Director at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). She served in various functions in MAS including oversight of licensing and supervision of capital markets intermediaries, and developing the wealth management sector. She subsequently served as Director at the Investment Management Association of Singapore where she worked closely with the investment management industry and regulators to drive initiatives that deepen industry capabilities for sustainable growth.

Yvonne holds a Master of Science in Wealth Management from Singapore Management University and a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from the National University of Singapore.

Joyce LEE

Compliance Associate

As the Compliance Associate, Joyce Lee maintains the regulatory and compliance framework of the business, including ESG compliance.

Prior to joining Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd., Joyce was an Assistant Manager at PwC (Financial Services Assurance) with a focus on the asset and wealth management industry.

Joyce holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honors) from Nanyang Technological University. She is also a Chartered Accountant and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.

Liting Chen

Administrative Executive

Liting Chen is an Administrative Executive of Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd. Liting is a Singaporean whose responsibility is to support administrative matters of the company.

Prior to joining the company, Liting was a conveyancing secretary with Pacific Law Corporation, providing secretarial and administrative support to lawyers including preparing legal documents and maintaining records of executed legal documents.

Claudia Amanda

Analyst

Claudia supports the team on finance, fund administration and ESG compliance matters.

Prior to joining Mizuho Asia Partners Pte. Ltd., she was an Analyst at an asset management firm in Singapore handling both the investment side as well as the sales and marketing side.

She holds a Bachelor of Business (Honors) from Nanyang Technological University and has also completed CFA Level I.
