ParaBoss is Australia's premier source of independent information about management and control of parasites in cattle, goats, and sheep.

ParaBoss is currently developing a one-day parasite management workshop that will help cattle producers manage parasites in their livestock in accordance with best practice principles.

The ParaBoss team invites interested cattle producers to take part in the second pilot of this workshop. The role of pilot attendees will be to participate in the workshop and provide producer-based feedback regarding workshop content. This feedback will be reviewed and will contribute to the final workshop content and resources.

The program for the day will be:

  1. Main parasites of cattle in Australia including life cycles, impacts on livestock of: worms
  2. ticks - bush, paralysis and cattle ticks
  3. flies - nuisance and buffalo fly
  • Effective control of parasites
  • Choosing products to control parasites
  • Best practice application of parasiticides
  • Managing and avoiding chemical resistance - including rotation, application, genetic solutions, etc
  • Integrated parasite management
  • Biosecurity


The workshop will assist you with developing an integrated parasite management plan for your cattle operation which you will be able to take to implement on your property.
