Abstract:
"December 2019. Two young boys, Habib and Loz, are trying their luck at selling knock-off 'essential oils', and spot a likely customer hobbling out of the local supermarket. They follow the elderly man to his home, wait a short while, and knock on his door. But rather than seeing him, they are confronted by a boy of about their own age, who is white and has blood smeared across his face. The old man, almost hidden at the end of the corridor watches while the boy tells them to go away. But before he slams the door in their faces, the boy puts a hand out to the lads in a gesture of pleading. Shaken, the boys go home but they are troubled by what happened and feel they must report it to the police. However what they were doing themselves was wrong and they are scared. When Habib's big sister Iqra hears the boys discussing what happened, she puts them in touch with Lee Arnold and his partner Hakim. They set about uncovering the truth behind the odd situation, and find themselves at the heart of a gruesome investigation."--Publisher.
