Whether you are new in business or looking to set up an additional site, there are various ways to get started with a new website and several platforms to take your business presence online.  

Understanding the types of platforms that are out there including DIY, Google Business or specific industry platforms, there are some simple steps to take for the novice and also the experienced in this every changing landscape of new platforms, features and benefits that make it easy for different types of business to not only have a presence but also to make bookings, payments and other useful functions as well as link to an effective social media strategy.

This workshop is funded under the Digital Solutions program and is hosted in collaboration with City of Ipswich and Career Employment Australia Ltd.

Presented by David Bateson.

David Bateson’s career has encompassed sales, marketing and PR roles, in large corporates, working in Australia, the UK and the US, Europe and the Middle East, and later with franchises, independent businesses and startups as the owner of a boutique sales, marketing and public relations agency. Over the past ten years he also worked extensively in the field of 'retail precinct activation' – helping retailers based in traditional main street/high street locations work together to bring more shoppers into their precincts by using a range of marketing and PR strategies – digital and non-digital. His experience and expertise encompasses all aspects of sales, marketing and PR in a wide range of sectors, with a focus on bringing all of these disciplines together. His enthusiasm is with the SME (small-medium enterprises) and startup environments. Having run several of his own businesses both in the UK and in Australia, David understands the sales and marketing challenges they face.
