The English Teachers Association of Western Australia are conducting a study into the ways in which English teachers make judgements about student progress and achievement. As part of this study teachers are invited to apply to be part of a marking trial, the results of which will inform teachers professional development and, hopefully, improve the standard of marking in the state, as well as the experience of classroom teachers and students
.
Teachers will need to be available from either April 12th -14th (Trial 2) or April 19th - 21st (Trial 3) from 9am to 3pm attending face-to-face at the University of Western Australia. In addition, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Range of classroom teaching experience across all secondary years, as well as ATAR and General.
Teachers will be paid $265 a day for 3 days. Lunch and morning tea will also be provided each day.
This will be an outstanding Professional Learning opportunity.
All participants will need to sign a confidentiality agreement due to the inclusion of student work.
Registrations close 5pm Monday March 20th.
