Group training coordinator - expression of interest
The Wellington Tri Club has created this new position to help coordinate a brand new weekly group training programme for its Training Members. It is a paid position and we anticipate the role will require an average weekly time commitment of three hours. (for details of the group training membership, visit https://wgtntriclub.com/group-training/ )

The role will be expected to facilitate and coordinate the logistics of a weekly run and bike session from August to the end of February. This will include setting meeting times and locations, providing an overview of routes, coordinating volunteer group leaders and briefing them, communicating the plans to members and maintaining good relations with a number of local coaches who will provide session outlines. You are not expected to have any coaching experience of your own.

You will be supported by a number of community coaches, volunteers and an enthusiastic Committee.

Roles and responsibilities
-Forward planning all sessions including location, session outline, session appropriateness for the time of season
-Maintain relationships with coaches to obtain session outlines and retain goodwill amongst this group
-Coordinating volunteers on a week-by-week basis and define groups for them to lead and their rough routes/distances (members will self select their group)
-Attending at least the first 6-8 weeks of sessions (even if it’s just to kick the session off) so that people get to know them
-Communicating with members via the private Facebook Group
-Provide briefings at the start of every session or organise a volunteer or coach to do it
-Ensuring Training Membership is promoted to the Tri Wellington Community via social media posts

You’ll need to be highly organised, proactive and a great communicator. You won’t be afraid to make decisions and make this position your own. You’ll be community focused and a natural leader.
We anticipate that this role will require an average weekly time commitment of three hours to set up and facilitate each of the sessions.

The Tri Club Committee will support the coordinator by:
-Administering the registration process for training members
-Promote the training membership through social media, website and at events
-Assist in the recruitment of volunteers
-Provide the Health and Safety plan for the programme.

Expressions of interest close Sunday 25th July, however, we are working at pace to set up group training so do not hesitate to get your application in as we will shortlist and interview on a rolling basis.
