Please read the below Terms and Conditions of Enrolment, and acknowledge that you have read it and agree to adhere to the Terms and Conditions:

1. ENROLMENT

At the start of each year or when enrolling for the first time, an enrolment form must be completed for each student. If you change your contact details you must advise Ms. Yander of these changes as soon as possible.

CASS Academy of Arts reserves the right to disallow or suspend any student’s enrolment due to misconduct or misadventure on the part of the student or responsible family member.

CASS Academy of Arts has zero tolerance to bullying and/or harassment toward staff or students. Students or parents found engaging in bullying or harassment of any kind will result in expulsion of the student with no refunds given of remaining fees.

2. PAYMENTS

Term fees are payable in full by the third week of each term. A fee of $25 will be charged for any late payments.

Term fees are strictly non refundable. If a student does not attend some classes, the full fee must still be paid.

Term fees will be pro-rated only for new students commencing midterm, but not existing students.

A one-off $20 non-refundable administration fee will apply on enrolment / re-enrolment of each student every year.

Active Kids and Creative Kids vouchers may be used toward the cost of term fees, provided it has not been used with any other Active Kids or Creative Kids provider for that year. The vouchers may only be used toward the payment of term fees, per the conditions of the NSW Government.

Private lessons – any student wishing to book private lessons must make full payment in advance. A full refund applies only if notification is given 24 hours in advance.

3. DISCOUNTS

A discount of 10% will be offered for every additional sibling enrolled (taken off the lesser of the sibling’s fees).

Children of CASS staff will be entitled to receive a 10% discount.

Students enrolled in more than one class at CASS Ballet Academy will receive a 25% discount off their second class (whichever class is the lesser cost) and 40% off the third or more. Exclusions apply - private lessons are not included in the total count of classes.

Existing students who introduce a friend to CASS Ballet Academy will receive a 10% discount off the following term fees if the friend enrols for a full term at CASS Ballet Academy.

4. MISSED CLASSES

As stated in Section 2. Payments the term fee is non refundable should classes be missed due to the student. However students may make up for their missed lessons by arranging a private lesson to the value of the lessons missed. This arrangement should be discussed with Ms Yander. Credit toward the following term fee will be given only where a student has been sick and can produce a medical certificate.

5. STUDIO SAFETY

Due to safety, students under the age of 18 must be dropped off prior to class and collected from the studio door after class by a parent or guardian. Students may not wait to be picked up from the driveway or street.

CASS Academy of Arts staff takes no responsibility for children unsupervised outside of the studio hall.

5A. STUDIO SAFETY - COVIDSAFE MEASURES

Students and family members dropping off students to the studio will be required to follow any Covidsafe measures in place as required by NSW Government and CASS. This may include signing in via the QR Code, sanitising hands upon entry, observing appropriate physical distancing measures and wearing a mask. Students are not to attend class if feeling unwell.

6. WATCHING CLASSES

Dance is a beautiful art form and much fun to learn but requires concentration and discipline from students in order to achieve progress. For this reason viewing classes will generally not be allowed. Parents and siblings will be asked to wait outside the studio while class is in progress.

Exceptions will be made only for first time dancers on their trial class and for certain baby ballet dance students.

Special viewing days will be arranged so that parents may see their child’s progress. This will generally be at the end of each term. No mobile phones or filming of classes allowed. Please also note that viewing days are at the invitation of the teacher and we ask for quiet throughout viewing.

7. DANCE RISK ASSESSMENT – PHYSICAL CONTACT

Please note that due to the nature of the art of dance, some student/teacher physical contact may be necessary at times to demonstrate exercise, or for physical correction or to administer first aid.

8. PHOTOGRAPHIC AND VIDEO/DVD PERMISSION RELEASE

Enrolment at CASS Academy of Arts Ballet gives staff of CASS Ballet Academy permission for all photographs and videos/DVD recordings taken in the course of classes and performances to be used for the publicity of CASS Academy of Arts.

Parents and family members are NOT PERMITTED to take photographs or videos of students while regular class is in progress. CASS is a private property and images cannot be taken without the express permission of a CASS representative.

9. LATE ARRIVAL TO CLASS

The Principal/Teacher reserves the right to disallow a student entry to class if the student arrives later than 10 minutes to class. This is for the physical safety of the dancer as they will have missed warm up preparing their muscles, joints and concentration for class work. Late arrival will also disrupt other students in class.

10. UNIFORM

Students are required to wear studio uniform for all classes. Please ensure your child has the correct footwear, dancewear and any equipment for safety and success in class. Hair MUST be slicked back in a bun (long hair) or hair-clipped back (short hair) for all classes and performances. Students will not be permitted to take class or perform without correct uniform.

The correct uniform is as follows:

Baby, Pre-Primary and Primary ballet – lilac leotard, lilac mid-thigh length ballet skirt, ballet pink tights and pink leather/canvas ballet shoes. Jiffies are NOT permitted.

Grade 1-5 ballet – lilac or dark purple leotard (colour of teacher’s choice), ballet pink tights, and ballet pink leather/canvas ballet shoes. Grade 1-5 ballet students and up are also required to wear black Character shoes and a Character skirt for their Character sections of class.

Senior students (Intermediate Foundation and above) – Black leotard, pink tights and satin demi-pointe ballet shoes. Pointe shoes – a student MUST be approved by Ms Yander to wear pointes.

11. PERSONAL PROPERTY

CASS Academy teachers and staff are not responsible for loss of student items. Any lost property found will be stored in a box at the studio for the remainder of that term before disposal. It is recommended that students label all their clothing and property with their name.
