Dear Department of Internal Affairs,

Hi,

As per department of internal affairs reply to official information act 1982 request 2122-0213 (FYI-Request-16671).

Question 9: Currently which month applications are in processing or assigned to case officers?
Department of internal affairs has answered to above question as below:

I can advise that as of 1 October 2021, the majority of citizenship by grant applications the department is currently working on were received in late November 2020.

But https://www.govt.nz/browse/passports-cit... says:
The Citizenship Office is currently processing applications submitted in October 2020.

My question is:
why is there a discrepancy in answer provided by Department of internal affairs for official information act request and the govt.nz website?

I can provide screenshot from govt.nz and also your reply if required.

Kindly also pass feedback to customer service persons answering citizenship Enquiries on 0800 225 151 as I was told same that currently oct 2020 applications are in process and none of nov 2020 are touched, they referred me to same https://www.govt.nz/browse/passports-cit...
