Written in 1969 by Carole King and included in her Grammy winning and Album of the Year (1972) Tapestry. It was written for her fellow co-workers, married couple, Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann when she moved away.
Released as a single by Carole King’s friend James Taylor and topped the charts in 1971. The song won a Grammy as the song of the year. Joni Mitchell provided background harmonies.
