For this programme, we will select 5 companies who will collaborate with industry-leading professionals, as well as engage with Hatch global industry network in the market. This unparalleled access to resources and expertise will provide organisations with a competitive edge in the industry.

Our programme combines market and technology experts, networking opportunities, and educational sessions, where we will focus on:

  • We are looking for New Zealand companies who are

    · ready with a proof-of-concept, preferably with a minimum viable product

    · Impact-driven, mission-driven and offer sustainable technology

    · Scalable, innovative, and proprietary technology in the blue economy

    · Proven solution and are ready for market entry

    · Associated with blue food innovation, aquainnovation or ocean technology

  • 22.04.2023 – 11pm NZST

  • 8th May 2023

  • Part-time programme of around 14 weeks (intermittent) after the participant selection

  • Weekly mentor meetings (~60min)

    Weekly time commitment for independent preparation to develop value proposition & market engagement plan depends on the development stage of the company. One day a week as an approximate estimate.

    In-depth educational presentation during the first phase of the programme (~60min)

  • Online and Aquaculture immersion tour to Norway (AquaNor: 22.-24. August 2023).

  • The global launchpad is a non-equity programme, with no investments from Hatch. It is a regional focused programme, targeted towards New Zealand companies.

  • There is no specific requirement for you to disclose your confidential information (including any trade secrets) or IP during the programme. However, if you do wish to share any information with us, the Hatch team will ensure that all information is kept totally confidential and will not be shared without your written permission.

  • The cohort is for commercial companies or organisations that would benefit from support with exporting. It is a requirement to be or to become an NZTE customer to participate.

  • Depends, but we are flexible to discuss.

  • It is an online programme. It is a strong preference that successful applicants also commit and plan towards attending AquaNor in Trondheim, Norway in August 2023.

  • New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is the New Zealand government agency charged with helping New Zealand businesses to grow internationally and leverages its vast expertise and worldwide connections to assist exporters of all scales in making informed decisions and linking up with suitable partners and investors.

  • We will provide an application link on this webpage on the 22nd of March.
    Application phase: 22.03.-22.04.2023

    Selection phase: 24.04. - 05.05.2023 (short listing 24.04. -30.04.2023 & interviews 01.05. - 05.05.2023)

    Cohort will be announced on the 08.05.2023

  • There is a fee of NZD $1000 per successfully selected company. This is refundable following participation in the immersion trip to Norway.
    All travel costs will be self-funded by the organisation. Estimated travel costs: NZD $5,000 per person (depending on length of trip, travel class), estimated costs for accommodation: NZD $8,000 - $10,000 per person for 5 nights

    NZTE recommends bookings are made as soon as cohort selection has been confirmed as accommodation and flights will book out quickly.
