Parade, pride and party come together once a year in Melbourne's iconic march celebrating solidarity in gender and sexuality diversity. Every year Holmesglen participates in the Pride March; if this is something you’d like to be a part of, please register your expression of interest.

Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week (ASAW) is an annual, international event meant to spread awareness and acceptance of aromantic spectrum identities and the issues we face, as well as making more people aware of our existence while celebrating it. International Asexuality Day (IAD) takes place annually on 6 April each year (first marked in 2021) and celebrates the full asexual spectrum, and raises awareness of the ace umbrella, including demisexual, grey-asexual and other ace identities. Go rainbow for International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination. Celebrates the milestone and advances since 17 May 1990 when the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases. Agender Pride Day is observed annually on the 19 May to promote awareness of agender individuals around the world whilst celebrating those who identify as agender. Agender individuals most commonly identify as having no gender; however, some do consider their gender to be neutral. The term agender falls under the non-binary umbrella where people may also identify as gender free, gender blank, genderless, gendervoid, ungendered, or null gender. Pansexual Awareness & Visibility Day is celebrated each year on 24 May to increase the visibility of pansexual identities within the LGBTQ+ community, and to combat stigma and prejudice towards pansexual and panromantic people. Pansexuality is being attracted to people regardless of gender identity, which falls within the bisexual+ umbrella. Bisexuality refers to attraction to your own gender as well as other genders, while pansexuality means gender isn’t a factor in your attractions. Omnisexual Visibility Day is a key LGBTQ+ awareness period which aims to bring further awareness and understanding to the omnisexual community and omnisexuality alongside highlighting issues faced by omnisexual people around the world. People who identify as omnisexual are attracted to those of all gender identities and sexual orientations. Omnisexuality is in the category of multi-sexuality, which includes people who are attracted to more than one gender. Omnisexual people are often categorised in this group along with those who are bisexual, polysexual, and pansexual. International Non-Binary People's Day takes place annually on 14 July each year and celebrates and raises awareness of non-binary people, who do not identify within the traditional gender binary. In really simple terms, a non-binary person is someone who does not identify as exclusively a man or a woman. Someone who is non-binary might feel like a mix of genders, or like they have no gender at all. Bisexual Awareness Week is a week dedicated to the support and acceptance of our bi community members culminating on the 23rd with Bisexual Awareness Day. To celebrate Bisexual Awareness Week, we want to help teach people about a part of the LGBTQIA+ community that often gets overlooked. National Coming Out Day is an annual event celebrated on 11 October. It is a day of celebration and hope for those in the LGBTQ+ community, who are coming out to the world and expressing their true authentic selves. Gender Fluid Week is a week that celebrates and raises awareness of gender fluid people, who do not identify within the traditional gender binary. Gender fluid means a person embraces an adaptable nature to the concept of gender identity and gender expression. They can be one gender, multiple genders, or no gender. International Pronouns Day is an annual event that is held on the third Wednesday of October every year. It serves to raise awareness of the importance of respecting, sharing, educating, and correctly using pronouns. Intersex Awareness Day is a day that seeks to raise awareness about intersex people and the struggles that they face in society. Intersex people are individuals whose physical or genetic makeup does not fit the traditional definitions of male and female. The day is intended to celebrate intersex people and recognise the unique challenges they face in society. Transgender Awareness week is an annual celebration of transgender history and the transgender community. It is celebrated every November to commemorate the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which occurs on 20 November. The month is centered around educating people about the transgender community, raising visibility of transgender people, and advocating for their rights.
