Incinerator Gallery’s Fireworks exhibition is Moonee Valley’s annual art and design award for Years 11 and 12 students who live, work or study in Moonee Valley.

Fireworks 2020 now aligns with the end of the school year to mark students’ massive achievements in art and design, and send the year off with a community exhibition celebration.

Our judging panel comprises two highly regarded Victorian art educators and advocates; Francine Sculli artist and educator, Social Justice Art and Gallery Sketchers facilitator and David Menzies, local artist and National Gallery Victoria educator.

The Gallery received an amazing 60 submissions for Fireworks, as these were shortlisted to 38 young artists and designers to make our 2020 shortlist.

Shortlisted artists in 2020 were eligible for one of the five prizes to be awarded at the exhibition opening and awards presentation.

Winners were:

The $500 Fireworks Art Award – Claudia Vendramini
The $500 Fireworks Design Award – Lucy Nelson
The $200 Mayoral Award for Excellence in Art – Lucas Marston
The $200 Mayoral Award for Excellence in Design – Olivia Spitaleri

During the exhibition visitors could vote for their favourite artworks.
