ORIGINAL SCHOOL LESSON PLANS ABOUT JAPAN!

Welcome to Japan-Lessons.Com, suppliers of Japanese culture teaching resources to school language, society and environment faculties.
The Shingumi (new class) Resources team have thoroughly tested all our excellent lesson plans.

Teaching culture at school provides students with insight into people, geography and history. It establishes areas of interest that students can
develop through the study of language, travel and friendships. As the world economy has globalized an appreciation of other cultures has
become indispensable in almost every field of work. The study of foreign culture is often the most memorable part of a course and a knowledge of Japanese culture often fosters a desire to learn the language. Students have expanded opportunities in work and leisure. As a teacher of Japanese
at schools I have found that early introduction of Japanese culture to students establishes foundations which influence later subject and career choices. Values are so important to relationships and communication that a person often benefits as much from having an interest in Japanese cultures they do from knowing the language.

"The Manga Unit could be used successfully with all age groups to bring modern Japanese Culture into the Classroom by using it as an Arts and/or Modern Foreign Language resource."

Gabriele Harris in Mado, The Japan Foundation (Nihongo Centre Newsletter), Volume 13, April 2002 (UK) View the full text article by pressing this link. MADO
Shingumi Resources lesson plans assure success to teachers who utilize them.
The units of work provided here allow students to get to know Japan. They are an essential aid to Japanese language study and have also been taught in
English programs, society and environment, art, science and history. The material is topical. Japanese manga are watched daily on the western television cartoon
channels by a large portion of students. The unique animals of Japan are universally admired. The study of samurai life takes students to a very different world
that is chivalrous and noble.
Shingumi Resources lesson plans free up teacher time.
Save precious time by utilizing lessons already written by Haydn Growden. Each unit consists of 8, 12 or 15 lessons that typically occupy a month of
work depending on lesson frequency. All necessary worksheets, teacher instructions, diagrams and readings are provided. There are helpful teaching hints.
No specialist knowledge of Japanese language is necessary to present the material in the programs.
