Anthony Jensen, Potter, has been exploring and working with clay for over 28 years. After completing his Bachelor of Fine Art, Ceramic Design from Monash University he has exhibited and sold work both in Australia and overseas.

After immersing himself in hand building at a young age, he soon gravitated to the challenge of wheel throwing and enjoyed pushing the limits of clay and his own abilities.

Anthony gains inspiration from traditional Chinese and Japanese ceramics, but also often get ideas from nature, observing colours, patterns and textures found in growth rings of timber and natural surfaces.

Never happy with producing the same glazes again and again, Anthony is always looking for new and interesting special effect glazes to highlight his contemporary interpretation of classical forms.

His wheel thrown forms display a delicate harmonious balance between form and glaze. The technical challenge of making large forms has captivated Anthony’s focus in recent years leading him to produce large ceramic water features, observing how water interacts and flows with various glazed surfaces and forms.
