LGH 3R and ANMF Member Meeting
Electronic Workload Form

Hi <<First Name>>,
The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Tasmanian Branch (ANMF), met 3R ANMF members on 9 September 2021. At this meeting members discussed concerns regarding workloads as follows:
- Acknowledgement that the roster is posted with good coverage on all shifts, however short notice leave, patient specials, and lack of access to pool staff results in overtime, double shifts and working short
- There are challenges and workloads for ANUMs trying to fill short notice gaps in the afterhours period
- Challenging workloads for ANUM in periods when required to take a patient load.
Members considered the following solutions:
- Completing ANMF workload forms to track occurrences of and workload types
- Implementation of the CNC role as proposed via the 2020 benchmarking process
- Implementation of supernumerary ANUMs
- To help with recruitment, members would consider increasing graduate numbers, subject to this being supported by the introduction of clinical coaches.
The ANMF has engaged with the 3R NUM on these matters and is currently waiting for a response in relation to the above concerns raised and proposed solutions. In the interim the ANMF has developed an electronic workload form that member can access via the below link, which can be saved to a smart device home screen. This will allow members to track workloads and key drivers of workloads. This information will be collected by the ANMF and can be used, if needed, in support of a NHpPD Grievance process.
