Kingston's Draft Coastal and Marine Management Plan

Have your say - caring for Kingston's coast

In consultation with the community, Council has developed a Draft Coastal and Marine Management Plan which outlines action to help to help us maintain, improve and care for our marine and coastal areas.

The draft plan, a summary, and a survey to capture your comments is available to view on the project webpage Coastal and Marine Management Plan | Your Kingston Your Say

We are now seeking your views. Share them with us by:

Have your say - cycling and walking in Kingston

What would need to change for you to choose walking and cycling in Kingston, over every other method of transport?  What could we do to make Kingston’s roads, shared user paths and trails accessible and usable spaces?

We’d like to know what we can do, to make zero-emission transport options (such as walking and cycling), the preferred ways of getting around our municipality!

Share your ideas and help us to map out a pedestrian and cycling-friendly Kingston. We’ll use a shared digital mapping tool, where you can see what others post and provide feedback on their ideas too.

Visit yourkingstonyoursay.com.au to share your ideas.
Comments close 5pm Sunday 24 October.

What are other low emission lifestyle choices I can make?

Choosing to walk or cycle is just one way you can make an impact on reducing your emissions, or carbon footprint.

We have put together a list of other ideas and choices each of us in the community can make to reduce emissions, and placed it on our website.

You'll also find a copy there of Kingston's Climate and Ecological Emergency Response Plan and what Council is doing to tackle climate change.

Hop onto the Frogs Census App

October and November are key months to listen out for frog calls and help monitor the health of our local frog populations.

Kingston has waterways, wetlands parks and private gardens that provide habitat for frogs. Collecting and sharing data about frog locations with Melbourne Water each year helps inform planning and decisions on waterway health improvement needs.

Use the Frog Census app for Apple or Android to record frog calls at any river, creek, wetland or other type of waterway. See this Youtube video for an App demonstration

Garage Sale Trail 2021

Registrations are open - Garage Sale Trail 2021

By buying or selling your stuff at a garage sale and choosing to reuse, you not only make or save money, but also keep items circulating and in use for longer reducing your carbon, waste and water footprint.

You do not need to hold a sale to be involved in Garage Sale Trail 2021 in Kingston. You may like to attend a free Trail Tutorial (webinar), or buy and sell, online and where restrictions allow, in the community.

Garage Sale Trail 2021 is not just one, but three weekends.

You’ll get support too, with tips and tricks from a gaggle of garage sale gurus and online support groups.

Visit the website to register and view the different ways to get involved and stay COVID-safe too.
