Taiwan – Austria
Project funding for internationalisation between higher education institutions

The OeAD has launched a new project funding programme between higher education institutions in Taiwan and Austria. The Project Funding Taiwan-Austria is carried out on the basis of the Memorandum (MoU) signed on 17 December 2018 in Taipei and 28 January 2019 in Vienna and is equally financed by the BMBWF (Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research) in Vienna and the MOE (Ministry of Education) in Taipei. The programme is intended to promote long-term cooperation between higher education institutions (universities, private universities and universities of applied sciences) and research institutions in Taiwan and Austria.

The OeAD-GmbH, Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research (hereinafter referred to as the OeAD) will be in charge of administering all relevant programme procedures on the Austrian side. Ministry of Education will be in charge of the administration of all relevant programme procedures on the Taiwanese side.

The aim of the programme is to stimulate joint activities and to contribute to direct collaboration among universities, higher education and research institutions. The Project Funding Taiwan – Austria is based on a mutual interest to considerably improve knowledge exchange on an international level and to strengthen the international profile of the institutions involved.

Areas of cooperation are Natural Sciences, Technical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Social Sciences.

Researchers at universities, universities of applied sciences and non-university research institutions in the areas of basic research are invited to apply in cooperation with a project partner in Taiwan.  All proposals must be submitted at both the OeAD by the Austrian project coordinator and at the MOE by the Taiwanese project coordinator.

In Austria the OeAD processes the call via an online application tool (the link can be accessed here). For Taiwanese application see announcement of MOE in Taipei.

Further information and the guidelines for applicants is available on our website:  www.oead.at/taiwan-austria.

The deadline is 15th of July 2020.

Best regards
The OeAD/IHK Team
