ROCA News - March 2023

Dear fellow ROCA members,

I hope that the year has treated you well so far as we advance into the College’s Centenary year of celebrations.

In addition to Rostrevor's Centenary celebrations, ROCA’s major events are also fast approaching with the 'Old Boys' Lunch on Friday 5 May and Business Lunch on Friday 16 June. More information including how to purchase tickets is included below. This year's celebrations will culminate with the Centenary Gala on Saturday 2 September.

This year, you should notice ROCA being more active on digital platforms as we attempt to improve our database and communications to all old scholars. However, we also need to ensure we remain connected with our senior ROCA members. I ask all ROCA sons and grandsons who receive our electronic communication or follow us on social media to please help to keep your older family members up-to-date.

I ask reunion conveners to please share emails and digital posts amongst their peer year. The Membership Promotion (details below) is also critical to updating details. If you can all please take the time to update your details, it will enable us to remain 'Connected for Life' and strengthen and build ROCA, College and ROC Sporting Club relationships.

I hope to see you around the College or at our upcoming events. Please don't hesitate to introduce yourself at any time.

ROCA is excited to launch two new social media accounts: Instagram and LinkedIn. Click the links below to head over and follow the two new accounts as well as the existing ROCA Facebook page to ensure you're staying up-to-date with all old collegian news.

Rostrevor’s 100^th year is well underway, with half of our Centenary events already having passed this term. We now look forward to the Old Boys Lunch, Rostrevor Day, Business Lunch and in particular, the Centenary Gala. More information about the Gala will be released soon.

This year we also look forward to the launch of the much-anticipated Centenary Book and to digging up the 1983 time capsule, buried in front of the Chapel.

Rostrevor College Centenary merchandise is now available for purchase at the College Uniform Shop. This merchandise is able to be purchased by all members of the extended Rostrevor community. I look forward to seeing the Red & Black represented at College events or out in our local community.

Our current students are fortunate in the number of you who volunteer your time across different aspects of the College. Seeing your connection to the College continue past your time as a student is truly special. If you would like to volunteer, I encourage you to visit our website or contact a staff member to get involved.

Held at the Adelaide Oval, this year's Business Lunch is on track to be the biggest in ROCA's history. With stunning views over the oval, the lunch, auctions, guest speakers and networking opportunities, this is an event not to be missed!

The annual "Old Boys" Lunch held on Edmund Rice Day is a key College event which gathers Old Collegians from the Class of '72 and earlier in a "Post 50 Year" style reunion.

Held in The Pavilion, it features a two course seated lunch, including beverages, with an optional College tour and extended invitation to the Edmund Rice Mass before the Lunch.

Price: $75 per person

This year, we welcome old collegians from the following graduating years to keep ROCA informed of their milestone reunions:
