Melbourne Polytechnic Library is pleased to announce that the Melbourne Polytechnic Research Repository, which aims to capture and showcase the applied research outputs from our community, is now live and accessible to both staff and the wider public.

The Research Repository aims to collect, preserve and make freely available the applied research and scholarship of Melbourne Polytechnic staff and students. The Repository will hold outputs such as journal articles, book chapters, research data, e-theses, e-learning objects and creative works.

Learning Skills Sessions

Online Learning Skills Sessions are now available via Zoom or on campus.

Get help from Melbourne Polytechnic Learning Skills teachers. Help with understanding assignments, essays and reports, numeracy skills, presentations, writing skills and more is not far away.

Our Book A Librarian service is available by Zoom. Some of the support we can offer includes :

  • Library skills – how to use the catalogue, reserve a book or find a journal article
  • Accessing your student portal and Moodle
  • Accessing student email
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office assistance, including Word and Excel

Melbourne Polytechnic has six Library campuses located at Preston, Fairfield, Epping, Prahran, Heidelberg and Greensborough.

Libraries provide both print and digital resources to support courses offered at Melbourne Polytechnic.

Each campus libraries collection specialises in supporting courses offered at that particular campus.

Library Chat

We all need a little help sometimes.

Whether online or on campus, Melbourne Polytechnic library staff are always ready to assist you. All you need to do is simply click on the chat icon on the library home page.

Type in your inquiry. Fill out some simple details about yourself such as your name and your student e-mail address and our library staff will be able to help you directly through the library chat box.

Studiosity

Studiosity online tutors can give you feedback on assessments 24/7.

To access Studiosity, simply log into moodle and go to the Student Support tab at top left.

Then scroll down to Studiosity, You will be asked to create a four digit PIN and then you can start submitting written assessments and seeking feedback from online tutors 24/7.

Numeracy

Could you use a little help with numeracy in Maths in your course?

Learning Skills teachers are here to help you build the numeracy skills you need to be successful, such as calculations, measurement, and formulas.

You can book Learning Skills sessions and get help face to face support via Zoom. It's easy to book a session. All you need to do is contact the library
