HUNTLY’S NEW CULTURAL HUB
WE’RE ON A JOURNEY TO RELOCATE & RESTORE A PIECE OF HUNTLY HISTORY.
The original Huntly Railway Station is being given a new lease on life by Waikato District Council and design and construction partners. Once the relocation and restoration is complete, the building will be handed over to the Huntly Museum.
We’re creating a local hub for our community’s cultural heritage and historical stories. From dedicated exhibition areas to providing educational material, our new museum will be true showcase of our town and community.

INTERESTED IN BEING PART OF HUNTLY MUSEUM’S NEXT EXHIBIT?
Learn about local disasters, experience the feeling of being in the mines from the early 1900s, or dive into Raahui Pookeka Huntly’s rich and diverse history and heritage.
While we work to open the new museum in the restored train station, we’ve created the pop-up in the Huntly Civic Centre, a public access point for locals to directly interact with the stories that make up their community.
The Pop-up relies on the generosity of our volunteers to open. Please visit our Facebook for when our pop-up is open. If you or a group would like to visit outside of these hours, please contact us today.
