Additionally, there was a notable year-on-year surge of 182 thousand in the count of unemployed individuals. Regional disparities persist, with Bremen (10.9%) and Berlin (9.5%) registering the highest unemployment rates, while Bayern (3.5%) and Baden-Württemberg (4.1%) maintain the lowest rates. "Employment and demand for labor are constant, meaning that the labor is stable at the start of the year despite the ongoing economic weakness," said Andrea Nahles, chairwoman of the Federal Employment Agency.
