About biosecurity
The Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) Biosecurity division manages the risks posed to South Australia by animal and plant pests and diseases, food borne illnesses, and the misuse of rural chemicals.
Through these biosecurity efforts we are able to maintain the productivity of our primary industries, produce clean and safe foods and beverages, protect our natural environments and sustain the health and wellbeing of our communities.
