We have playgroup options to suit you and your family.
Playgroup Tasmania offers supported playgroups that are safe, warm, welcoming and adaptable spaces for all.
Supported playgroups are free to attend and your child does not need a formal diagnosis.
All supported playgroups:
- are led by professional practitioners
- are comfortable places for families to connect and share information
- help families with referrals and connection to services
- assist your early parenting and childhood journey
- provide you with practical resources
- support children and families to learn from one another
At Playgroup Tasmania we see the benefits of play for children of all abilities and believe all children and their families should have access to safe and inclusive playgroup programs.
Playgroup Tasmania’s supported playgroups aim to ensure parents and children feel included, safe, understood and valued. There are also many community playgroups that focus on including and welcoming children of all abilities.
Whichever group is the best fit for you and your child, playgroups are a fun way to make connections, find support and build lifelong memories.
Play and Learn Supported (PALS) playgroups
PALS playgroups provide physical and social development opportunities for children of all abilities. This is done through music, nature and circus play and other activities in partnership with local cultural, arts and sport and recreation providers.
PlayConnect+ playgroups
PlayConnect+ is a facilitated, supported playgroup for children with a disability and/or developmental concerns and their families. (Great news! A diagnosis is not necessary).
PlayTogether playgroups
At PlayTogether playgroups the Volunteer Playgroup Leaders have had extra training and support to increase their skills and knowledge about disability and inclusion in a playgroup setting.
