Program Description

This self-paced online course explores the developmental stages of listening, speaking and understanding of children two to five years of age. Participants will explore strategies and practices to use in learning programs.

The course comprises of videos, quizzes, discussion boards and resources. A printable workbook is included along with follow up support from the Early Learning Team.

Program Outcomes

Participants will deepen their understanding of:

  • the foundations of development of language and speech
  • developmental pathways and milestones for children 2 – 5 years of age including areas for concern
  • the role of the educator in supporting listening, speaking and understanding development knowledge of how to use resources available to support working with children and families.
