A very nice place to stay !

As individuals travelling on our own and spending 3 nights at Rock View we found Ranjini , Dammika and his team to be the perfect hosts.

In terms of dining , we found the food to be delicious , plentiful and no special requests regarding issues around food preferences or allergies such as gluten intolerance were taken lightly.

We were quite simply accommodated in every way.

Ask for a look around in the neighborhood

The most pleasant surprise in our trip! The place itself is simple and clean. The food is very good, the view is beautiful. We asked for a two hour walk around. The owner matched us up with one of his workers, a local who speaks no English. He took us down to the river, through the rice fields, to a water power station, a very interesting experience in itself and back again to the hotel.

Lovely little hotel close to the Sinharaja Forest

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights (R10) during our recent Birdwatching Tour of Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. We were very close to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve, which was our main reason for visiting the area. We were on breakfast and evening meal although on two occasions we had a picnic breakfast due to our early morning starts. Upon our arrival the owner was there to greet us. He and the staff were alway very pleasant and polite. Our first nights meal was a buffet style as there was a large group also staying at the hotel. The next 2 nights the staff prepared almost anything we asked for. We had a choice of traditional Sri Lankan food or western style. We usually chose traditional local. However, on our last night my wife tried the grilled Tuna which she found to be delicious. Unfortunately, I’ve only give the hotel 4 stars, this doesn’t reflect on the quality of the hotel or the service. We were disappointed to discover that there was no fridge in the room are Tea/Coffee making facilities. Such a shame for a small outlay, this would have gotten 5 stars from me. Would definitely stay here again. Good quality WiFi but only in the restaurant. Highly Recommend.

A wonderful place to stay

We had a lovely room with great views from the balcony. The motel was clean and comfortable with good food and staff that couldn't do enough for us.

We were on a birdwatching trip, and the Rock View is geared up for birders with early morning tea/coffee and packed breakfasts. Really close to Sinaraja NP.

Food was delicious too - we absolutely loved this place and can recommend it highly to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

lovely setting

this hotel has lovely rooms with balconies overlooking a tea plantation and a beautiful valley. The buffet meal was delicious with a great variety of Sri Lankan curries. This is an excellent base to visit the Sinharaja rainforest park

Great place, great views

Nothing flash but it was a lovely, cool place to stop in the highlands. Friendly owner, astonishing views and great wildlife. I stopped for just a night on the way to Singraja (sp). I spent a wonderful hour with a beer watching the sunset and a few wild peacocks.

Good Motel - Amazing Location

This motel is located in the mountain with an amazing view to the rain forest, the tea plantation and farming. I could set for hours just watch the nature by its beauty. The room was very clean with aircon and hot water. wifi was available only in the lobby and dinning area. Breakfast was fresh and very good. For dinner, it is recommended to pre-order as it takes them about 45 minutes to prepare it.

Great place near sinharaja

Don't be fooled by the online listing looking poor, fabulous place, ok more basic than some, but. Lean rooms, aircon, fabulous food especially the local selection. Service was brilliant and prices reasonable. Great view of the valley and tea plantation.
