2021 Community Infrastructure Grants

The Tasmanian Community Fund is calling for applications from not-for-profit community organisations to support community infrastructure projects that contribute to community wellbeing. The Tasmanian Community Fund recognises the community’s ongoing need for infrastructure that provides places for the community to participate, build connection, and learn.

Projects that fit within the definition of community infrastructure include the provision of buildings (new and renovations), equipment, technological and other infrastructure that enables the community to thrive.

For the 2021 Community Infrastructure Grants, priority will be given to rural and regional infrastructure. The Tasmanian Community Fund considers all of Tasmania rural and regional except the urban areas of Hobart, Glenorchy, Clarence, Launceston, Devonport and Burnie.  The TCF will only consider community infrastructure applications from these urban areas if the project is targeted at people experiencing entrenched disadvantage.

The Tasmanian Community Fund is seeking applications for projects that require between $50 000 and $300 000 of support from the TCF.

Application timeline:  Applications open at 8am on 7 August 2021 Applications close at 5pm (Tasmanian time) on 15 September 2021. Outcomes for EOI applications will be announced from mid October 2021. Outcomes for stage 2 applications will be announced from mid December 2021.

 Project funding is available for:

  • Infrastructure projects that are tailored for the Tasmanian community
  • infrastructure and equipment
  • projects that have a minimum of 10% cash contribution (of the amount being sought from the TCF) from the applicant or another funding partner
  • projects that include community collaboration and partnerships between organisations are strongly encouraged
  • projects that do not take longer than 3 years to complete

Eligible applicants: Not-for-profit organisations proposing to undertake a project in Tasmania and who can provide, through their own or another parties resources, 10% of the amount being sought from the Tasmanian Community Fund as cash contribution towards the project.

Application process:  There will be a two stage application process (EOI and Stage 2). This is the EOI application and applicants will be notified about moving to Stage 2 in mid October.

Assessment: Our grant rounds are highly competitive, and we are unable to support every worthwhile project. Organisations are strongly encouraged to contact Fund staff early in the process to discuss their proposed application.

Further information: Visit the Fund’s website www.tascomfund.org or contact the Fund Office on 6165 8333.

  • For TCF purposes, not for profit organisations include Councils.

ATTACHMENTS AND SUPPORT DOCUMENTS

You may need to upload/submit attachments to support your application. This is very simple, but requires you to have the documents saved on your computer, or on a storage device.

You need to allow enough time for each file to upload before trying to attach another file. Files can be up to 25MB each; however, we do recommend trying to keep files to a maximum of 5MB – the larger the file, the longer the upload time.

COMPLETING AN APPLICATION IN A GROUP/TEAM

A number of people can work on an application using the same log in details as long as only one person is working at a time. Ensure you save as you go.

SPELL CHECK

Most internet browsers (including Firefox v2.0 and above; Safari; and Google Chrome) have spell checking facilities built in – you can switch this function on or off by adjusting your browser settings.
