UX/Graphic Designer

We're looking for a user-experience focused product designer to join our product-engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to join as one of our first UX-dedicated hires and help bridge gaps between design, customers, product, engineering, and data. This roles comes at a time where we've got a record number of exciting customer-facing initiatives that we need to tackle together.

Your responsibilities include

  • Working with product managers and engineers to bring product requirements and user stories to life in terms of product design
  • Engaging directly with customers to lead research across a series of projects.
  • Taking ownership of numerically led analysis around feature performance to drive ongoing improvements

Your skills should include

  • At least 2 years experience working in a UX and/or graphic design focused role
  • Experience making data-led product decisions, or experience using either quantitative or qualitative research to inform design
  • A personal interest in personal finance and the impact that financial products can have on customers
  • At least moderate competency with design and interface design, showing a creative flare aesthetically.
  • Ideally, at least basic competency in data processing, either through direct use of SQL and/or through tools such as Superset, Amplitude, and Google Analytics.

Data Scientist

We're looking for an analytical and product-oriented data scientist who is motivated to help our product and marketing teams make better data-led decisions. This is an exciting opportunity to create material impact by applying your skills to a number of critical initiatives to ensure that no stone is left unturned when it comes to analysing and understanding our customers.

Your responsibilities include

  • Working with our product managers to support discovery and planning to ensure we unlock hidden customer behaviours.
  • Working with our engineers to support that their systems are stable, reliable, and achieving their goals

  • Investigating appropriate Saas tools to support effective use of data
  • Exploring untapped potential

Your skills should include

  • At least 1 year working as a data scientist in a team that contains product-thinkers and engineers.
  • Experience with SQL, particularly in the form of complex queries on dozens of operational tables
  • A keen understanding for how to utilise tools such as Superset, Amplitude, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.
  • Experience using visualisations to convey and articulate meaning

Senior Software Engineer

We're looking for an outcome-oriented person who is motivated to see great engineering help innovate on product. You love working with other engineers and are excited to be part of an engaged and fun team of people who love building products to help everyday people. This is an exciting opportunity to be trusted and empowered to help lead a team of competent software engineers. Working directly with the CTO, it’s a chance to coordinate with product managers and designers to deliver complex software solutions.

Your responsibilities include

  • Thoughtful and articulate software system design that sets a strong framework for junior engineers whilst also ensuring that the broader companies objectives are represented.
  • Providing quality assurance and appropriate code review for other engineer’s work to ensure that work that ends up in production is up to both yours and the team’s standards.
  • Being a leader on technical best practices, helping to separate critical processes that need to be followed from noise that can be distracting towards outcomes.
  • Deployment and monitoring of software systems into the cloud to ensure that systems have high availability and can cope with changes to scale.
  • Being an integral part of the team in terms of doing the programming to execute on software designs.

Your skills should include

  • At least 3 years experience in system design of web applications across both front-end and back-end implementations.
  • Experience with Typescript, both in terms of NodeJS as well front-end development and declarative frameworks (ReactJS/NextJS is a bonus).
  • Competence in writing queries in relation SQL (bonus for PostgreSQL) both plainly and in the context of an ORM.
  • Fluency in GIT version control
  • Awareness of the challenges facing distributed systems in terms of multi-instance server-side software.
  • Confident understanding of how automate systems through CI/CD.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how software systems are deployed and maintained in the cloud, specifically in AWS environments.
  • Awareness of key SEO considerations in terms of web page design
  • Previously experience with GraphQL is a bonus but not a requirement.

Growth Marketer

We’re searching for a Growth Marketer to join Pearler’s Growth and Marketing team. Working alongside our internal marketing, product, engineering teams and external agencies/resources/. you’ll find ways to scale our growth and bring our campaigns to life. Reporting to the CMO you’ll manage a range of growth initiatives designed to drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention. You'll have the autonomy to innovate and the support to execute, making a direct impact on our growth trajectory. Your role will involve close collaboration with founders, engineers and content creators to ensure that growth strategies align with overall business objectives.

Your responsibilities include

  • Strategise and execute data-driven user acquisition strategies across a variety of channels
  • From ideation to execution, work with the team and manage the roll out of marketing and growth campaigns
  • Identify and test new growth ideas across all stages of the user journey
  • Leverage your analytics skills to deliver performance insight
  • Manage and optimise paid media campaigns for Facebook, Google Search, YouTube etc.
  • Work with our brand partners to maximise our partnership across their and our owned channels
  • Improve onboarding, activation, and retention of our users through engagement channels, including email, in-app/push, and content marketing.
  • Conduct A/B tests and experiment with different user acquisition strategies to optimize performance and drive continuous improvement;

Your skills should include

  • 3+ years of work experience in a high performance environment with existing growth/marketing experience. Experience working in high growth tech/startups is a plus.
  • Strong communicator who has experience working with product and engineering teams
  • Highly creative, identifying and acting on new growth and optimisation opportunities
  • Driven, self-starter who has a keen appetite for professional growth
  • Experience working with CRMs and managing email campaigns
  • Experience in A/B testing, funnel and landing page optimisation, and data analysis
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Additional skills and experience around design, content, marketing channels (e.g. PPC, SEO), analytics or coding are a plus
  • General everyday awareness of social media trends and channels is a must
  • While the role is a remote position, the ideal candidate is based in Sydney to benefit from in person time with the team on an ad hoc basis
