VCs back gaming licensing platform amid metaverse craze

The co-founders of education tech unicorn Go1, Chris Eigeland and Vu Tran, are among a standout group of early-stage investors backing local gaming licensing marketplace Layer.

The business is part of a growing group of venture capital-backed gaming start-ups to emerge in Australia, including Immutable, Mod.io and Alta, as investors look to capitalise on the early days of the metaverse – a network of 3D virtual worlds in which people can interact virtually.
