About this scholarship

The Australian National University - Australian Signals Directorate partnership (Co-Lab) brings together researchers, academics and technical leaders to solve national security challenges and nurture Australian talent. One of the goals of this partnership is to identify and foster talented students by connecting the academic and technical expertise to develop and realise career potential for our graduates.

Co-Lab Honours Grants are aimed at Australian students who are interested in a career with the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). Successful applicants will work alongside ASD mentors and ANU academics in research topics with real-world impact. They will also have access to events and training opportunities that will enable them to be well placed when applying for positions at ASD after graduation.

Co-Lab values diversity and is committed to ensuring equal opportunity for all students. Every effort will be made to offer equal numbers of Grants to male and female applicants from a diverse background.

Field of Study

The Co-Lab Honours Grant is available to students undertaking a research project that aligns with ASD research interests during their Honours year. The fields of study include: Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Psychology, Sociology and Languages.

If you are not sure if your project aligns with ASD interests, please contact us to discuss. We are also interested in working with high quality students who can demonstrate transferable research skills and problem solving abilities.

Please note that cross-disciplinary projects will also be considered favourably.
