The goal of the program for executives is to build competency to provide a development framework for people with an ambition for senior leadership. The Program will equip senior leaders with the knowledge and skills to strengthen the local industry through their strategic decision making. Our research has shown there is a recognised gap in the training of senior pharmaceutical, medical technology and biotechnology executives in Australia. Some senior executives heading up Australian affiliates of multinational companies arrive with little background knowledge of the local environment. This program will address their needs for training in the Australian environment. In addition, senior executives of small and medium enterprises may have been responsible for the innovative product they have developed but do not fully comprehend the local environment from a commercialisation perspective. In both situations, senior executives would benefit from the education and networking resulting from participation in this program.
The program is uniquely tailored to senior members of the therapeutics sector who wish to broaden their strategic understanding of the sector, improve their decision making and build their leadership capability to contribute to the broader success of the business. The program will build on participants strong competency in their field, provide an opportunity to expand each leader’s business acumen and build a comprehensive knowledge of the landscape and the competencies needed to be a successful healthcare executive in Australia.
The program will have a panel of experts who will be available during certain sessions to provide insights from case studies, or for mentoring (mentoring will be additional to the cost of the program).
Small group sizes of 12-15 participants will assure maximum access to facilitators and increases the return on investment.
