Publisher's Summary

The bestselling parents' guide towards happy, sleeping babies from birth to two years, from the international baby whisperer Tizzie Hall.

Tizzie Hall has gained an international reputation as a baby whisperer and miracle worker. Even from an early age, Tizzie knew how to read babies' body language and cries, and from that auspicious beginning she has developed a series of sleep routines that have provided parents and babies with a good night's sleep the world over.

Save Our Sleep is the book that parents asked Tizzie to write, and with over 270,000 copies sold it has become the only book parents need to cure their own sleep deprivation! This audiobook includes routines, integrated feedback on routines, dummy use, express feeding, dealing with premature babies and twins, information on teaching your baby to self-settle and case studies and tips.

Please note that the advice in this audiobook was accurate at the time of recording.

PDFs do not have all the routines

Beware: Although there was great information, the accompanying PDF only provided some of the routines (no routines available for breastfeeding newborns). This is frustrating because not only was this the whole point of me purchasing the book, but it feels like a scam and a waste of time. Again, the information was good and I wish I could give more stars but its very difficult to visualise the routines without the accompanying PDF's. I contacted them about this, and the response was basically I have to buy each of the routines from their website. Very disappointing.

Covers a lot of content but would read with caution

I did learn a lot from reading this book but it’s not my go to book and I think I could have done without it. I also found some of the content was not based on medical evidence and I as conflicting with all the other books that I’ve read simple things like using black out curtains to other things.
I have given it 4 stars still because I still think it covers content compressively but would read with caution because it is more anecdotal content than based on medical evidence and based on extensive research so did find some of the content conflicting with all the other books I’ve read which were consistent. When I heard some of the content I was like huh?? That doesn’t sound right.
I do recommend reading ‘happiest baby on the block’, ‘my precious little sleep’ and ‘healthy sleep habits, happy child’. On a more comprehensive method to modified Ferber/graduated approach I recommend the Sleep 101 Tinyhood course. It fills in the gaps but I still think you need to read those books because it explains the ‘why’ especially the ‘healthy sleep habits’ book.

Contradictory and regimented

Listened at double speed as was slow talking and a lot of advice I didn't feel was right. It says it's not a controlled crying book yet has advice on putting down towels if the baby vomits from crying in the cot. Don't alter the routine... except babies know it's ok to alter routine at daycare. Don't have anything with a sleep association to aid sleep but a comforter toy is essential. Don't get babies overtired as they have trouble sleeping but do extend awake times to tire them out so they sleep. Follow WHO guidelines when it suits books agenda but not for starting solids as that doesn't fit with authors opinions. Basically the author thinks parents are too dumb to read babies signals so just follow her routine (the routine was apparently developed from watching what babies do naturally....so why not just let them follow natural rhythms rather than regiment them by crying it out).

Great information, terrible narration

I keep coming back to this book because it is a wealth of information but I can't listen to it for more than 5 minutes. The author's voice is depressive.

Great advice, terrible audio

Great advice but had to rewind all the time to understand her whispering. I usually love when the author reads their own books but the combination of her whispering voice and her accent makes it very difficult to understand.

a lot of advise in this book conflicts

a lot of advise in this book conflicts that of experts in their fields including the world health organisation and Red nose Australia, being start babies in solids at 4months and use blankets on their beds. The author fails to do research just making blanklet statements without backup, research or information as to why and appears she doesn't care why.
