A  Plan of Subdivision is a Survey Plan for reconfiguring (subdividing) a Lot, including amalgamating two or more lots and division of one or more lots.

If your development creates new lots, a lease, easement or amalgamation or units with common property (Building Format Plan), Council must approve the new Plan of Subdivision.

A Plan of Subdivision is a plan of survey generally detailing the area and boundaries of land or a building, so it can be easily identified by the landowners and the adjoining owners on a plan that may be registered. It may show easements, leases or covenants, however, in some cases these elements may have been created by a different survey plan and which will appear separately. There are several different types of plan of subdivision.

Council does not hold records of Plan of Subdivision or the associated titles, dealings or interests. Refer to Titles Queensland for further information.

We recommend that you engage a Surveyor to help prepare your Plan of Subdivision. This will generally involve a survey of the land to establish the new boundaries.
