About the speaker

Frédérik Saltré is a Research Fellow in Palaeoecological Modelling with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Australian Biodiversity and Heritage at Flinders University. He is Coordinator of the Global Ecology Laboratory and a member of the Weisbecker Lab. Fred is an Ecologist specialised in Global Change Ecology and Biogeography whose research focuses on how environmental and biological drivers shape the spatio-temporal responses of terrestrial and marine species (vertebrate and vegetation) to past, present and future climate changes. His most important contributions have been in applied ecology, biodiversity and conservation, theoretical ecology, extinction dynamics, human demography, species responses to climate change and applying ecological theory, modelling and spatial statistics approaches to predict ecosystem changes.
