About this event

Australian children’s author Cristy Burne works at the intersection of story, science, technology and creativity.

A writer of children’s fiction and non-fiction, Cristy has published 11 books - including two CBCA Notables - and has been shortlisted for the WA Young Readers Book Award, the Wilderness Society’s Environment Award for Children’s Literature, and the WA Premier’s Book Award.

Cristy’s latest books are junior fiction Beneath the Trees, narrative nonfiction Fiona Wood: Inventor of Spray-on Skin and Suzy Urbaniak: Volcano hunter and STEAM warrior, and the co-authored Wednesday Weeks series of fantasy adventures.

Cristy will share tips for getting published and discuss working with different narrative forms and genres.
