About this event
The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) and Women in Mining and Resources Queensland (WIMARQ) 2023 International Women’s Day Breakfast is an exceptional professional development event for people working in and supporting Queensland’s resources sector.
It celebrates the outstanding contribution by women and men across our sector towards making our workforce more diverse and inclusive.
The event will be hosted by award-winning Australian journalist and television presenter Jennifer Byrne, and our keynote speaker is Fabian Dattner, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dattner Group.
The Dattner Group specialises in cultural transformation, executive development and working with women.
Fabian is well-known as an inspiring leader, ethics commentator, and a leadership activist. She is passionate about challenging leadership paradigms and advocates for engaged and collaborative culture.
The QRC/WIMARQ breakfast incorporates the presentation of the annual Resources Awards for Women, which recognise outstanding achievements in seven categories:
- Exceptional Woman in Queensland Resources
- Exceptional Young Woman in Queensland Resources
- Inclusion and Diversity Champion in Queensland Resources
- Excellence in Diversity Programs and Performance in Queensland Resources
- Exceptional Tradeswoman/Operator/Technician in Queensland Resources
- Exceptional Woman in Queensland Resources Technological Innovation
- Exceptional Female Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA) student in Queensland Resources
The breakfast and awards form part of the QRC’s diversity and inclusion strategy which aims to increase the proportion of women in Queensland’s resources sector to 30 percent by 2026.
Event compere Jennifer Byrne will also moderate a panel discussion that follows on from the breakfast.
