About this event

Congratulations on accepting an offer to study at UWA! We are delighted to have you join us in 2023!

To help ensure you have an excellent start to your UWA journey, UWA Student Life would like to invite you to join us in-person at our 'Getting Started at UWA' information sessions.

These sessions are aimed at commencing undergraduate students who want to learn all about Student Life at UWA! There will be a range of info sessions and events available for you to attend, helping you to enrich your experience and get off to a good start at university.

WHAT'S ON?

  • Getting Started: Your course and enrolment (all undergraduate courses). This presentation, led by Student Experience Officers will teach you all about how to create your study plan, enrol into your units, and allocate your timetable.
  • Getting Started: Your course and enrolment (Bachelor of Engineering). A specifically tailored session led by staff from the School of Engineering who will help you create your study plan for Engineering majors.
  • Getting Started: Get UWA Ready. Want to know about where to get your books? how to access your UWA email? where to park? Transition Services are here to help! Come along to this presentation and learn everything you need to know about UWA outside of your academic studies.
  • Getting Started: Academic Skills and Culture at UWA. In this session, we’ll discuss some key skills and habits you’ll need to make the leap to university-level study. We’ll talk about how learning happens at uni, and help you to develop an active learning toolkit so that you hit the ground running with your UWA studies.
  • Getting Started: Supports and Services expo. Chat to staff from the various teams who form UWA's Student Life directorate. Learn directly from staff about everything UWA has to offer such as UniMentor and Volunteering, Careers and Employability, Health and Wellbeing and much more!
  • Getting Started: Enrol into your units! Following the information sessions, Student Experience Officers will be on-hand to answer all of your enrolment-related questions and provide expert advice about how to create the perfect study plan to make the most of your time at UWA! Students who have not yet completed their online enrolment will have the opportunity to do so using the computers in Reid Library. Our friendly UniMentor volunteers will be close by to provide help if you need it!

We hope you can join us and we look forward to meeting you!
