About this event

The Australian National University Sustainable Farms team and the Deakin University Blue Carbon Lab invite you to an upcoming event at Downtown Deakin, Melbourne.

More Productive and Biodiverse Farms is a half day forum to share our vision for restoration on farms in Australia’s temperate woodlands. We will share ground-breaking research on the opportunities to improve biodiversity conservation and productivity on farms through investments in improved management of natural assets, including remnant vegetation, plantings and farm dams.

This event will bring together environmental scientists, economists, regional field ecologists, farmers and investment advisors for a reflective and robust discussion about how we can save our disappearing woodlands.

The goal of the forum is to build connections between all those engaged in the fields of environmental and agricultural policy, planning and delivery to ensure we are fully supporting farmers and their industry partners to conserve biodiversity on farms.

ABOUT SUSTAINABLE FARMS

Sustainable Farms is a research and extension initiative of The Australian National University. We work with farmers, land managers, Landcare and NRM agencies to improve on-farm natural assets, while supporting sustainable and profitable agriculture.

Sustainable Farms has been undertaking long-term research studies on farms in the box-gum grassy woodlands of south-eastern Australia for over two decades.

We run regular field days, webinars and community events in partnership with local NRM organisations and Landcare groups, to enable exchange of knowledge, experience and science between farmers, researchers and land management practitioners.
