About this event

The Domestic and Family Violence Working Group for the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide invites you to join us for this special event to raise awareness about domestic abuse and highlight the positive role we can all play in building safer communities in November during the 16 Days of Activism

This will be a valuable opportunity for clergy and church workers to explore their role in relation to domestic abuse, from responding to a disclosure of domestic abuse, providing pastoral care and support to survivors of domestic abuse, supporting those who use violence and to develop greater knowledge of community-based resources and the ways in which we can all contribute to preventing gender-based violence. The panel presentations and discussions will run for a total of 90 minutes followed by 30 minutes for refreshments, networking, and informal discussions.

Panel convener for this event is Alex Conway, Men’s Engagement Partner, from White Ribbon Australia.

Panellists:

Prof. Sarah Wendt, Flinders University Social Work Research Innovation Living Space SWIRLS

Lived experience speaker, Voices for Change Advocate, Embolden

Jodie Sloan, Chief Operating Officer, Women’s Safety Services SA.
