A number of Hutchins boys were selected in the Tasmanian State Rugby Teams that toured Canberra to participate in the Southern State Championships.
Nick Allardice (Year 12) was named as Captain and Martyn Szoke (Year 12) was named as Vice-Captain of the Tasmanian U18 Rugby Team, William Edwards (Year 10) was named as Captain and Isaac Nugent (Year 10) was named as Vice-Captain of the Tasmanian U16 Rugby Team.
U18 Team selections also included Blaine Doust (Year 11), Torin Jon...es (Year 12), Lloyd Lucas (Year 10), Dean Conn (Year 12) and Clancy Pickering (Year 11), coached by Mr Shaun Killian.
U16 Team selections also included Howard Newbury (Year 9) and Oliver Elrick (Year 10), managed by Neil Edwards.
U14 Team selections also included Oliver Brancher (Year 
The Tasmanian U18 team won the Southern State Championships, beating South Australia 24 - 0 in the Grand Final.
